AIDS Delaware was started in 1984 by a concerned group of volunteer
activists. We provide statewide services and education, have 25+
employees and dozens of volunteers, and an annual budget of $1.4 million.
AIDS Delaware is unique in Delaware for the range of services it provides.
For instance, instead of offering only counseling and testing services and
then referring clients to another agency for case management, we do it all
in house. We provide direct services to people with HIV and their families,
prevention and other educational programs, and support and advocacy for
policies and actions that address the needs of people with HIV.
Our Mission Is To Provide:
--
Comprehensive social and support services to clients and their families;
-- Advocacy for
compassionate public policy;
-- Prevention and education programs addressing unsafe sexual and drug use
behaviors, in order to halt the spread of HIV and other STDs. |
